EXQUEUE | Exploring Literary Theory

Rediscovery

Posted in Of a Personal Nature by Stella Tran on 05/07/2009

Earlier this year I did myself a favour and purchased a copy of Walter Benjamin’s “Illuminations.” Thus far I have read “Unpacking My Library” and “The Task of the Translator,” the latter of which inspired me to consider writing again. It would, of course, be rusty and lack a high form of intellectualism. And as there is lineage involved, I will catalogue some past amateur academic articles and essays written on my favourite subjects and theorists.

Self-generated homework in adulthood will be prone to falling by the wayside of life. This is at best an introduction to new conversations, at worst a neglected hobby, and I will not hold myself accountable for anything beyond maintaining passion, interest, and an awareness that everything begins with an aspiration.
